5. Payments and Stripe Checkout
Purchases are processed through Stripe Checkout. When you buy a MotorTranslator license, you are redirected
to Stripe's hosted checkout page. Stripe processes payment card data under its own terms and privacy policy.
We receive the information needed to confirm the purchase, issue the license, and keep accounting records.
6. AI providers and Bring Your Own Key
MotorTranslator uses a Bring Your Own Key model. You choose and configure your own AI provider, currently
OpenAI or Mistral AI. When the desktop software performs a translation, document content may be sent to the
selected provider for the purpose of generating the translation.
Your use of an AI provider is governed by your own account, API key, provider settings, and the provider's
terms and privacy policy. You should review those terms before submitting confidential or personal data in
documents to be translated.
7. Recipients and processors
We may share personal data with service providers only when necessary for the purposes described above:
- Payment processor: Stripe, for secure checkout and payment confirmation.
- Hosting and infrastructure providers, for website hosting, server logs, security, and availability.
- Email and communication providers, for sending trial keys, license keys, purchase messages, and support replies.
- Scheduling provider: Calendly, for optional onboarding bookings, calendar invitations, and meeting administration.
- AI providers selected by you in the desktop software, for translation processing under your own provider account.
- Legal, accounting, or administrative authorities where required by applicable law.
8. International transfers
Some providers used for payment, hosting, email delivery, fonts, or AI processing may process data outside
the European Union or European Economic Area. Where required, we rely on appropriate safeguards such as
adequacy decisions, standard contractual clauses, provider contractual commitments, and technical or
organizational security measures.
Calendly may process scheduling data outside the European Union or European Economic Area, including in
the United States. Where required, Calendly relies on appropriate transfer safeguards described in its
Data Processing Addendum.
9. Data retention
We keep personal data only for as long as necessary for the purposes described in this policy:
- Trial request data: for the duration needed to provide the trial, prevent repeated abuse, and handle related support.
- License and purchase records: for the duration of the license relationship and the legal retention period required for accounting and tax records.
- Support messages: for the time needed to handle the request and maintain a reasonable support history.
- Scheduling data: for the time needed to arrange and follow up on the session and maintain a reasonable onboarding history.
- Campaign attribution cookie: 30 days. Associated campaign and download records are kept for the time needed to measure outreach and stop unnecessary follow-ups.
- Server and security logs: for a limited period needed for security, troubleshooting, and abuse prevention.
- Contact messages: for the time needed to answer the request and maintain business correspondence where relevant.
10. Security
We apply reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect personal data against unauthorized
access, disclosure, alteration, or loss. These measures may include HTTPS, access controls, limited access
to operational data, logging, backups, and provider security controls.
No system can be guaranteed to be completely secure. If you believe personal data has been exposed through
MotorTranslator or this website, contact us promptly.
11. Cookies, fonts, and tracking
The website does not use behavioral advertising cookies. When you arrive through a MotorTranslator campaign
link, it stores an opaque first-party attribution cookie for 30 days. The cookie contains no name, email
address, company name, or campaign data and is used to link a later software download to the original visit
and stop unnecessary campaign follow-ups. Server logs may still record technical data such as IP address,
requested URLs, user agent, and timestamps.
The website may load Space Grotesk from Google Fonts. When this happens, your browser may contact Google
servers and transmit technical data such as your IP address and browser information to Google.
12. Your GDPR rights
If the GDPR applies to you, you may have the following rights, subject to the conditions and limits set by law:
- Right of access: obtain confirmation and a copy of personal data we process about you.
- Right to rectification: ask us to correct inaccurate or incomplete personal data.
- Right to erasure: ask us to delete personal data where there is no valid reason to keep it.
- Right to restriction: ask us to temporarily limit processing in certain cases.
- Right to object: object to processing based on legitimate interests.
- Right to data portability: receive certain data in a structured, commonly used format.
- Right to withdraw consent: where processing is based on consent, withdraw it at any time.

13. Complaints
If you are located in the European Union and believe your data protection rights have not been respected,
you may lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority. In France, the supervisory authority is
the CNIL:
https://www.cnil.fr/.

knowingly collect personal data from children through this website.
15. Changes to this policy
